We Are the
Leaders in Preventative Care
At the Rochester Medical Center, our Enhanced External Counter Pulsation (EECP) center is a leading provider of preventative care and treatments for cardiovascular diseases. We have provided EECP treatments to thousands of patients since 2001, with an unparalleled success rate of 95%.
What Is
Enhanced External Counter Pulsation (EECP)?
EECP is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes specialized equipment to improve blood flow and promote the development of new blood vessels in the heart (a process known as angiogenesis). This innovative therapy has been proven to be highly effective in managing and treating various cardiovascular conditions, including:
⦁ Angina (Chest Pain)
⦁ Coronary Artery Disease
⦁ Heart Failure
⦁ Cardiomyopathy
⦁ Severe Coronary Artery Calcification
During an EECP treatment session, you will be comfortably positioned on a specialized treatment bed. Inflatable cuffs will be wrapped around your calves, thighs, and buttocks. These cuffs will sequentially inflate and deflate in sync with your heart’s rhythm, creating a counterpulsation effect that increases blood flow to the heart muscle.
By increasing the flow of oxygenated blood to the heart, EECP helps alleviate symptoms of angina and other cardiovascular conditions, improving overall heart function and promoting the growth of new blood vessels (collateral circulation) to naturally bypass blocked arteries.
