Why Is Cardiac Testing Important? What Are We Looking For?
- Heart disease is a silent killer – often times there are NO SYMPTOMS
- Heart disease is the number one killer of men and women in the world
- There is a heart attack every 40 seconds in the United States
- 500,000 cardiac arrests every year
- 800,000 deaths from cardiovascular disease
- 805,000 heart attacks every year
- Our goal is to save your life and prevent disease
Prevention Is Critical. If You Don’t Look For Disease, You Won’t Find It.
- CTA Coronary: Looks for blockages in the coronary arteries that cause heart attacks
- Stress Test: Looks for areas of the heart muscle that are not getting oxygen (ischemia)
- Carotid Duplex: Looks for blockages in the carotid arteries that cause stroke
- Heart Monitor: Looks for dangerous heart rhythms (atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia) that cause stroke or death
- Echo: Looks for valvular heart disease and measures the strength of the heart (ejection fraction). This also identifies heart failure- the leading cause of hospitalization in the world
- Venous Insufficiency: Looks for problems with the veins that are responsible for getting blood back to the heart
These tests are performed when indicated. They are lifesaving diagnostic studies that give us the information we need to provide you the best care. We have the best outcomes because we look for and treat disease. If you have questions about your testing, please make an appointment or contact us today!
