Biography

Professor Pierre Atallah, MD, FACC, FSCCT, is the distinguished Chairman and Founder of Rochester Medical Center and a Clinical Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine. With an MD from St. Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon, he completed his internship at Receiving Hospital, Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University. Dr. Atallah pursued a residency in medicine and fellowship in Cardiology at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan, and holds board certifications in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, along with various medical certifications.

As a Clinical Professor at Wayne State University, Dr. Atallah is a fellow in prestigious medical societies and holds staff privileges at prominent medical institutions. He established his practice in 1976, founding The Atallah Heart Center and later The Rochester Medical Center. Throughout his illustrious career, he has held notable positions such as Chief Section of Cardiology and Chief Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Crittenton Hospital.

Dr. Atallah has received numerous honors, including Baccalaureate de Sciences Experimentales and Laureat awards in Chemistry, Anatomy, and Microbiology. In 1971, he earned a three-year scholarship at the Sorbonne, University of Paris, for post-graduate specialization. Notably, he was recognized as the Resident Teacher of the Year at William Beaumont Hospital in 1974 and served as Chief Fellow in 1976. In 1995, he became the President of the American Heart Association, Greater Rochester division. Proficient in French, English, and Arabic, Dr. Atallah has personal interests in information technology, architectural design, tennis, fishing, classical music, and photography.
